Description
This is part of my self portrait series about my sheep herding era. I am western through and through, raised on the land, shaped by the weather. My Father was the youngest son of Dutch immigrants and they bought from a defeated homesteader. I am his only daughter. I was raised on sheep and building a legacy. I've always been comfortable with the night and solitude. The full moon may have brought the unwelcome cries of the coyote, but this is where I've always found my peace. I've always felt somewhat invisible to the rest of the world and, most likely, I am. Odd in that I've never been lonely--how can you be when you can gaze upon the colors and magic in the night sky? The changing light forever engages me to the wonders of our world.

I think this is beautiful. I have done similar sketches with my daughter and her dog as subjects. I love your work.
